Back in the day, the Variety Playhouse was a movie theater, but today it serves as an intimate concert venue with what are arguably some of the best acoustics in Atlanta. Why visit:

Zesto is bound and determined to give The Varsity a run for the title of the yummiest greasy food in Atlanta. (On a side note, Zesto does have the best turkey burger in the ATL for those of you who insist on trying to eat healthy.) Hands down, Zeso has the best soft serve ice cream in Atlanta (Sea Salt Caramel Turtle Swirl is an absolute must!). From slaw dogs to butterscotch milkshakes (It may sound disgusting, but it's not!), Zesto serves great food at a good price. (BTW, the Zesto on Ponce de Leon is no longer with us, so you'll have to head to the one on Moreland Ave.)

Why visit:

Bet you didn't know there is a absolutely mind blowing hole in the ground complete with glistening turquoise water and granite walls just about a mile from Midtown. For those of you not from the south, the Waffle House is an institution. Where else can you get a meal and a cup of coffee 24/7/365? Why visit:

A wildlife game ranch, the Yellow River has plenty of animals you just don't see at the local zoo. Why visit:

If you have kids who can't keep their hands off stuff, you owe it to them to visit Imagine It! The Children's Museum.
