Laxmi Misthan Bhandar, LMB is a sattvik (pure vegetarian) restaurant in the Old City that’s been going strong since 1954. It is a one-stop shop for Aloo Tikki with Chhole, Samosa and the popular Gol Gappa. It has a 150-cover restaurant and serves Chinese and Italian cuisines as well, but go there for their chaats: these are very good. Started in 1963, Samrat continues to have his loyal clientele as well as other curious customers who go there just to see what’s so special about Samrat. This small tea shop in the midst of a very busy market gives two types of tea: ‘normal’ and ‘special’, accompanied by Samosa and Kachori. It is the owner’s fourth generation that is now running the shop.
